Windows 8/Windows 10 and your Summit software

Following are detailed instructions for turning off User Account Control in Windows 8.

Turning Off User Account Control in Windows 8 or Windows 10

To turn off User Account control take the following steps:

  • In your Windows control Panel, click on User Accounts and Family Safety

    Click on User Accounts

Click on Change User Account Control Settings

Slide the slider bar to the lowest seting - Never Notify as shown below

Click OK to make the change effective.

These final steps are critical. If they are not completed your Summit software registration will not be successful.

  • Download the ZippedRegFiles.zip file and extract the two files to your C:\SEMP folder
  • Run the TurnWinUACOff.exe file that is now in your C:\SEMP folder
  • Restart the PC
  • Start Summit and register
  • If desired, after registering Summit run the TurnWinUACOn.exe that is now in your C:\SEMP folder
